THE STUDIO
FAUST was founded on the belief that thoughtful design creates clarity, trust, and continuity.
After two decades working across brand identity, editorial design, and institutional communications, I became increasingly aware of a growing gap in the design industry. Many organizations invest heavily in branding, websites, and marketing, yet some of their most important communications still live in reports, publications, donor materials, admissions collateral, and long-form storytelling.
The strongest organizations understand that a brand is not defined by a logo or a website alone. It is built through every interaction, every publication, and every communication over time.
FAUST was established as an independent practice dedicated to helping organizations build thoughtful visual systems from the foundation up, and carry them consistently across every touchpoint with clarity, purpose, and endurance.
THE FOUNDER
Luise Faust is the founder and creative director of FAUST. Originally from Lisbon, Portugal, Luise studied graphic arts and visual communication before earning a degree in Communications Design from Pratt Institute in New York City.
Her career was shaped by a deep appreciation for typography, structure, print production, and the craft of visual communication within small studio environments in Manhattan. Over time, her work evolved toward institutional communications, publication design, and long-form visual systems serving educational, nonprofit, and mission-driven organizations.
FAUST was established as an independent practice built around the same principles that have guided her work throughout her career: clarity, thoughtful collaboration, strong visual systems, and design that endures.
WHY DESIGN MATTERS
“
Design communicates
before words do.
Before someone reads a mission statement, opens a report, or enters a space, they have already formed an impression. Design shapes that impression immediately through typography, structure, imagery, tone, and consistency.
For institutions and organizations that depend on credibility, trust, and public presence, visual clarity matters deeply. Thoughtful design creates coherence across every touchpoint, from publications and websites to reports, donor materials, and environmental communication. Over time, that coherence builds recognition. Recognition builds trust. And trust becomes part of how an organization is understood and remembered.
Great design is not created
through trends or templates.
It emerges from careful listening,
thoughtful structure, and a commitment
to creating work that endures.
